I'm spending this week sitting on the beach, getting away from the world of work as much as possible. I suppose it's not a surprise that even a small beach-side resort on the East coast of Vancouver Island would have wireless, but it seems strange to me, nonetheless. When I first started coming to The Alders 25 years ago, people where in a huff about the wood-heated cabins getting retrofitted with furnaces. Now I can write a post to my blog while looking out to the beach (the photo above was taken about 30 feet from where I am right now).

I assure you that I'll be back to posting regular missives from dorkland next week - there's some exciting things afoot with FlashForward Austin just around the corner, and a new exhibition of prints in the works.
