Using iPod and cars as mobile club unit

It is often problematic to make digital events at public spaces, because you surely will need power. But after all we realized, that almost everybody has access to at least one car: a highly free movable device equipped with sometimes excellent soundsystems. The iPod in combination with iTrip sends music via FM-Radio. Now it is possible to synchronize the car-stereos. We can think of various constellations of “floors”:
- mobile disco unit, with 4-cars (each at a corner of the dancefloor)
- ambient mood event with hundert cars distributed all over the place with decent volumes
- holiday trip convoy at the motorway.

So yesterday we had a vernissage at a parking garage. (Whole story and pictures on the vernissage at baumanns blog). To make this event possible we used the following gear:
- mailinglist and mobile phones to syncronize the crowd
- iPod equipped with iTrip
- cars equipped with tuner and sound system.

Setting up System, driving to location, having fun with the crowd

So with this concept it is possible to totally re-think the ability of beeing digitally equipped in the public.
