Design is fetishism pt.2 - Picasso
Since i’ve heard the first time of Cubism i think about this example. Picasso and Braque were the ones who developed a direction in painting that is known as Cubism now. This painting shows objects not only in one perspective, but analyses the object from different perspectives at the same time. Below there is the picture “Demosielles d’Avignon” that was the initial point of Cubism. Picasso painted two noses of the woman “from diffrent perspectives at the same time”. That small “detail” lead to an overall new style, that even influenced architecture!
From Wikipedia:
“Picasso’s painting of the Demosielles d’Avignon is not considered cubist, however it is considered essential in the development of the movement. In this work Picasso first experiments with seeing the same object, or figure in this case, from various directions. Impressed by the painting, Braque experimented further with this idea. The developments of both men in the field would lead to what would be cubism.”
