What a difference the ad makes…. static/dynamic - silent/noisy

Please welcome the overall new layout of this site! Besides many improved visual and navigational enhancements i also added gooooogle ads. (If there are no on the right side, but just a small arrow, than click some around ’til they appear.)

Right at the moment i loaded the ads the first time and figured out how “silent” this site was before. That little bit of dynamic generated content (almost new content on every click) and that “third column” made the website some “louder”. Imagine some more dynamic stuff like audioscrobbler profile, weather forecast, some rss-feeds, latest comments ect. and you will end up in a crowded noisy place like a crowded noisy place in the real world. I think *some* noise is nothing wrong…

Test Post

All will be revealed shortly…

Apologies for low signal:noise.

Update: I’m aggregating blogs about Processing and related topics at Processing Blogs. Contributions welcome.

I’m using WordPress with the FeedWordPress plug-in. A few teething problems (no mod_rewrite to begin with, and a few mis-assigned posts due to default account names), but now everthing seems to be working. Not sure what to do about all the different categories it imports though.

With luck, the aggregated copy of this post will have been updated.

ABA Games / D programming language

Kenta Cho is a prototype of an independent game developer that equals to something we call in Germany “Autorenfilm”. This exellent shootergames are 100% selfmade handcrafted and really ROCK! Be sure to check out Torus Trooper, a very fast and addictive 3D-shooter that comes with *ahh, love* abstract grafics, nice electronic soundtrack and great smooth speed and style.

Cho used the ‘D programing language‘ for his games and this really looks interesting. Following the definition at Wikipedia: “D adds modern features like design by contract, unit testing, true modules, automatic memory management (garbage collection), first class arrays, closures (anonymous functions), and a reengineered template syntax.” It has the advantages of C and C++, but is also easier, because it has a ‘garbage collection’ and as far as i can see better GUI handling and other easier methods than C++. Unfortunatelly i am not into C or C++ and there are almost no IDE or tutorials for D yet, but i will keep an eye of it. A good starting point is dsource.org and DedicateD. The ABA games also comes with the d-sources, so there’s another good starting point. If you find more interesting about D, than please leave a line in the comments.

PS: The other good news about programming this week is the official BETA release of Processing V1.0!

Since I’d heard Lecture by Yugo Nakamur, Amit Pitaru , Tom Rope, and etc… in Japan last year. I’m trying to make a lot of study model, but not just make final one. To my surprise in the lecture is that they make plenty and plenty of study model.

Hola, mundo

Processing Beta

Processing is finally in beta, with its first public release. O’Reilly Radar has a good piece on what Processing is and what’s special about it….

pre-proce55ing & post-proce55ing

preprocess.jpg

It is nothing new but I realized that there is no reason that I have to complete my sketches only in the processing. Possibility of pre-processing or post-processing.

This drawing is mainly made with processing, but after I overpainted with fingertool of photoshop.

Processing is tool for imagination not for restriction.
